ROH has reached its 11th year in existence and they are celebrating with a stacked card, which showcases the best that ROH has to offer. Take a look at our preview of the event after the jump.
ROH World Title: Kevin Steen vs Jay Lethal
This intense feud comes to a head at the 11th anniversary show. Steen spit on mama Lethal, Lethal has been campaigning for a title match for months now, he finally got it when Jay questioned Steen’s title reign, saying he hasn’t beaten anybody until he has beaten him. Most likely the match of the night here, look for this one to get out of control quickly with how intense this feud is. Steen retains.
ROH Tag Title’s: The Briscoes vs Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly
The Briscoes vs WGTT has been put on hold until Shelton gets done flirting with WWE. Until then, we get this match. I don’t mind the pairing of Fish and O’Reilly, but honestly SCUM would be a much better fit here, as The Briscoes beat them for the titles. This match will still be good though. The Briscoes retain and go on to face WGTT one more time and possibly feud with SCUM or the American Wolves.
The American Wolves (Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards) vs The Forever Hooligans (Rocky Romero & Alex Koslov)
Billed as a “Dream Tag Team Match” this one has a lot to live up to. Especially considering that this is one of the first high profile matches the wolves have had since reuniting. I don’t know much about Rocky Romero and the only work I remember from Koslov was from his time in TNA. Regardless, I am looking forward to this one, simply because the wolves are on the hunt again and looking for gold. The American Wolves win it.
2 Out of 3 Falls: Michael Elgin vs Roderick Strong
Another contender for match of the night. This one will be hard hitting, fast paced, and heated. The House of Truth has imploded and we reap the rewards with matches like this. Truth Martini is banned from ringside, so expect a straight up fight. This one could really go either way, but I am leaning towards Elgin. It seems that ROH wants to position him towards the ROH Title and a feud with Steen, which would be amazing. Elgin wins in three.
ROH TV Title: Adam Cole vs The Top Prospect Tourney Winner
The final four in the top prospect tournament are Tadarius Thomas, QT Marshall, Matt Taven, and Silas Young. I honestly expect the prospect to get the upset over Cole and win the TV Title. Any of these combinations could make good matches also, so no worries there.
No Holds Barred: Charlie Hass vs BJ Whitmer
Two of the most intense men on the roster collide. This match has the makings of a blood bath. BJ was filling in for Shelton awhile back but things quickly turned south. Look for this one to go all over the arena. Charlie Hass picks up the win, could be the companies main heel in the near future.
Caprice Coleman and Cedric Alexander vs SCUM
SCUM is still intent on taking out every man on the ROH roster, and they start here. This should be a nice tag match, that can set the tone for the rest of the evening. Jimmy and Steve are one of the best teams in wrestling today and Coleman and Alexander do good work. SCUM should get the victory here and continue their quest to bring down ROH.
The card is solid from top to bottom and has some interesting feuds and match ups. Check it out on iPPV, March 2nd at 8:30 PM EST. http://www.rohwrestling.com/ippv
