Money In The Bank 2016 Predictions

Money in the Bank 2016 is perhaps the most stacked WWE event in recent memory, and certainly the most stacked Money in the Bank card of all time. WWE has been on a recent run of great events since Wrestlemania, and MITB is poised to continue that run. But who is leaving Vegas a big winner? And who is going broke?

Charlotte and Dana Brooke vs. Becky Lynch and Natalya

My prediction for this pointless match, is that Lynch and Natalya pick up the victory after some miscommunication between Charlotte and Brooke. Lynch and Natalya need a win here and this is the only way they are going to get it over Charlotte. The women’s division was extremely hot coming out of Wrestlemania and has completely sputtered since. It is pointless to me not having Charlotte defend the title, and the only reason she isn’t is to set up Charlotte vs Brooke…god help us.

Winners: Becky and Natalya

Rusev (c) vs. Titus O’Neil – US Championship

It is interesting to me that Titus has seen a little bit of a push since coming off his suspension, and I can honestly seeing this going either way. Super dad Titus winning the US title on Father’s Day would be a good story, albeit short sighted, but still good. Ultimately I think Rusev will retain by hook or by crook. They are booking Rusev as a beast again so why cut his legs off already? Rusev deserves better and will probably excel after the brand split, but he will stay at the mid-card level for a little bit longer.

Winner: Rusev

The New Day (c) vs. The Vaudevillians vs. Enzo & Cass vs. The Club – WWE Tag Team Championship

Probably the toughest match to call on the card. New Day is coming up on a record breaking title reign. Enzo and Cass are super over and hot, and the Club is getting booked extremely strong. The Vaudevillians have no shot here so throw them out. It is between the three aforementioned teams. I can truly see any of the three winning. For the sake of predictions though I am going to go with the New Day. No sense in ending their reign before the record is broken. Let them break the record and then get the belts on the Club afterwards.

Winners: The New Day

Money in the Bank Ladder Match-
Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro vs. Sami Zayn vs. Chris Jericho vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Dean Ambrose

I broke every mans chances down in a previous post. Throw out Jericho and Del Rio. Leaving us Owens, Cesaro, Zayn, and Ambrose. Zayn and Cesaro are darkhorses. Owens and Ambrose have a good shot. My gut says Ambrose, but I wouldn’t be shocked if Owens grabs the briefcase. Going with Ambrose here though, it is time.

Winner: Dean Ambrose

AJ Styles vs. John Cena

An added wrinkle was added to this match during the “go home” RAW. The Club was banned from ringhside, supposedly making this a straight up one on one match. I actually think it is going to stay that way. I also think that AJ Styles will win, and win cleanly. Yes, I am crazy. No, I am not saying that AJ is winning this feud, but I think he will get his first big PPV win over Cena, cleanly as well. AJ needs it, and Cena doesn’t. It is smart booking. What is for sure though, is that this will be a MOTY candidate. I also fully expect The Club to lay a beat down at the end of the match. Will Finn Balor debut? No. He won’t be debuting as a heel and he won’t be joining the Club. Balor has the potential to be a hugely popular babyface and I don’t see them jeopardizing that.

Winner: AJ Styles

Roman Reigns (c) vs. Seth Rollins – WWE Championship

I am going with Reigns here. Sadly, I don’t think WWE is ready to give up on Reigns just yet. Despite the terrible crowd reactions he continues to get and the sheer lack of progression on the mic, WWE still has a hard on for Roman. Something will happen here to necessitate a rematch, as I don’t think this is a one off match. WWE missed the boat with a face turn for Rollins and a full blown heel turn for Reigns, as this match could have had a completely different look if they went with the crowd reaction, but alas we are here and we should expect another Roman win.

Winner: Roman Reigns

No matter what happens I think we are in for a great event. AJ vs Cena should be a MOTY candidate. The Ladder Match has the potential to steal the show, and I am sure Rollins vs Reigns will be highly entertaining.
